    Thank you for all your replies. A quick question regarding research for google search results -- is it important to look at results for eg: keyword or to look for results for "keyword"? The 18 million results I gave above was for keyword - however "keyword" only returns 108,000. Thanks.

    The .com and .co.uk is taken. However, the .net and .org is available. The term returns 18 million results in google. According to google keywords the term is searched for 110,000 times a month. Do you think it is worth buying the .net? Thanks

    decathlon is trademarked in relation to sporting goods. decathlons.co.uk would not infringe if you simply created a site about the athletics event and had google adsense (or similar) - this may be a better option than just parking it especially if the ads are related to sports equipment...
