    To me I think it depends on the surname popularity, like 'smith' is a very common name and I'd expect it would be vey high in SE rankings. But if you have a not so well known surname like mine then I'd expect to buy it for around the same price as when buying from a registrar. Mind you...

    From my experience you would be better changing them to a UK server, but placing them onto a server in the US will only effect search results to a minimum. As you are looking at the UK market only I'd go for the .co.uk.

    You are better off using a third party FTP program as whats been said, DW is very slow, or at least it can be at times. I personally use FileZilla due to being free, but there are many more to choose from.
