I was a bit surprised when he asked for it, mainly because of the time it takes so it proves nothing. I'd already provided him (and others) with screenshots of AdSense earnings and stats.
ps. could you PM me details of other DN forums?
again, your comment has confused me. I don't know what your comment is referring to exactly. what's the first time you've seen it? someone asking for nameservers to be changed? someone taking the pi$$?
I am willing to change nameservers, which is almost the same as offering it. you're saying...
yeah, I understand what you're saying. but claiming 'sold' and actually being sold is two different things. this guy was clearly taking the pi$$, so if I did have 10 people interested I would've had to delay the second person while I changed the nameservers back. if they did what the first guy...
eh? :???: The guy didn't pay. He obviously had no intention of paying. He was clearly taking the pi$$. So in answer to your 'question', the domains were not actually sold.
OK, so you've quoted a contradiction made by me. But the fact remains I did change the nameservers on a short-term basis as I trusted the guy to make payment. After waiting more than a reasonable amount of time he still failed to make payment, and didn't even bother replying to my PM's even...
According to the registrar admin panel, it takes 24-48 hours for nameservers to take full effect. So 10 x 48 hours = 480 hours (or 20 days). From past experience I'm aware it usually takes a lot less time for changes to kick in, but I was just giving an example.
FYI, I did actually change the...
And 1 day of traffic 'testing' would be enough to please that one person? 2 days? 3 days? 1 week?
I know the TAG can be changed back, but how long would that take? Too long! The guy would've had the domains for free for quite a while. Why on earth would anyone risk such a thing?
Please...
See above. If 10 people wanted to do it? And just for the record, he actually tried to get me to change the TAG first. When I looked into that I found out what it does so I said I'd do it after he'd paid. He then said he didn't trust me!? How could I trust him?
So if 10 potential buyers wanted me to do that what would I do? One at a time and wait 20-30 days for a buyer to pay? And in the meantime I lose 20-30 days potential revenue? I'm more than happy to provide proof of stats/earnings to potential buyers, but to let them have control of the domains...
thanks rjs_essex. I know what you're saying, and the upcoming release of Halo 3 is something we'd already thought about. It's just that I no longer have any interest in playing any of my games consoles, and to be honest Halo 3 isn't something I'm bothered about.
If it's left as closed, the...
The current 'closed' message already says people can get in touch if they want to make an offer. The problem is, most of the people from the forum are teenagers and there's only a small percentage of adults.
18 x monthly income as a reserve? That'd work out at over £1k! I doubt any of the...
These were 'sold' a couple of days ago, but the buyer pulled out at the last minute (he wanted the domains transferred to his nameservers before making payment. needless to say, I wouldn't do that. would you?). Anyway...
BobSinclar.co.uk and BobSinclair.co.uk ('Rock This Party', 'World, Hold...
Thanks 'programmer', that is more or less the reason. I totally lost interest in the 'Halo' games months ago, so running a website (with busy forum) solely about a game I no longer like/play seemed pointless. Regardless of the $100/$200 per month income from AdSense.
The guy who took over...
Sorry if this is a little long-winded, please hold on!
About a year ago I was really into the game 'Halo 2' on the Xbox games console. So I started a website as a little hobby for me and my son. Anyway, it turned into quite a big thing so I used it for Google AdSense adverts and it made a...
