    .UK Announced

The right way of assigning a .uk would be to give priority to the owner of the .co.uk only if that domain was registered before a certain date. This solution would be perfect if it weren't for the corresponding .org.uk and .me.uk owners.

    .UK Announced

My opinion is that Nominet is leveraging all this new gTLD hype started by Icann to steal some money. If you think about it, even pricing will be in line with that of domains in the new gTLDs.

    .UK Announced

Nominet May Offer .UK Domains That Cost 800% More Than .CO.UK - Says It's Not About the Money I very much agree with this passage: "Naturally, such a development would immediately devalue the millions of .co.uk domains held by British businesses and individuals who would need to try to acquire...

    New to .CO.UK domains - Backordering .CO.UKs with Caught.co.uk

Thank you very much, everyone. LOL one of the names I was after was renewed yesterday, one day before being released. I've heard that this is a common situation with .UK names, weird indeed. Basically, from what I've understood, if your domain expires on a certain date, you can renew it until 3...

    New to .CO.UK domains - Backordering .CO.UKs with Caught.co.uk

I've sent a PM to Chris, but I've just realized he hasn't logged in for a week, so I thought I could ask you a few questions. I'd like to backorder some soon-to-drop .Co.UK names at Caught.co.uk. However, since this is the first time I deal with .CO.UK domains (I'm familiar with other TLDs...

    advice on .co domains

Only a small set of ccTLDs can be geotargeted (.CO, .TV and .ME and a few others) out of 200+ ccTLDs, so I'd say "classic" ccTLDs are still the vast majority. Anyway .CO is the only one that can be used for commercial purposes (.TV and .ME are great TLDs but limited to their niches).

    advice on .co domains

I find .CO is a valid alternative to .com from a branding point of view and will be gaining value in the future. Add to this that TLDs are no longer important in Google’s eyes, in fact Big G only distinguishes between non-geotargetable ccTLDs and gTLDs (.com and geotargetable ccTLDs like .CO...

Typing 6 chars for the extension goes against the advantage of buying a one-letter domain :)
