The number of domains isnt really an indication of the actual number of customers per-server so to speak, as many have addon domains, some will park variations of their own domains. Lookout more for the overselling by the host rather than the number of domains "pointing" at a server. Those... -

Indeed, nicely put Skinner ;-) Technically speaking, the term for it is "addon domains", so that every addon domain you create in cpanel, automatically creates a new folder within your "public_html" for that websites files, and maps that domain name to the new folder. Its fairly straight... -
