I tried submitting a few names but failed (I wouldn't lower my reserves far enough).

Yea, big keywords with mad extensions is a little pet project (recently got currencytrading.be). The "what the hell, let's take a punt" section of my portfolio! :)

    Cheers, Jon

If you fire up a WHOIS on the .co.uk domains it looks like RL owns most of them!

Nothing wrong with that but I'm surprised that there aren't more from 3rd parties.

Will be interested to see the next tranche of domains when they are released.

I had wondered, what with the low reserves they insist on, and the fact that the insiders own a big proportion of the names on the final list, whether its some sort of insiders club obscured by all the hype, where they offload mainly their own names and can buy up all ours on the cheap after getting us to lower the reserves to give-away levels.

Looking at that list I can only assume they have some buyers already lined up to get them. Crablegs ????? Is that a domain that is really worth putting into an auction ?

Auctions can often be the least transparent entities going....

I agree with most on the reserve issue. Putting a low reserve on your killer domain and there only being 3 people in the room and all thinking its an early xmas. Same sentiments for virtually all auctions formats unless there are lots of buyers who can the value of the entity.

Perhaps we should dictate how many need to be in the room first before we agree to sell.

Any too cheap sales create a buzz and generate income, only for the Auctioner, so why bother with auctions? Its so hit and miss. I will only let mine out of my site with high reserves because I cannot be sure of a fair value.

I wondered that as well when I saw it, its one of RL's, I had a bit of a search to see it there was a double meaning or something, but found nothing.

Like you say maybe there is already an interested buyer, but there has to be 2+ people interested for an auction to work...$500 anyone?

    wtf.co.uk

A few gems but mainly a crock of shit if you ask me. Can't believe they've been turning down good names when the list is full of .cm and .eu domains. Come on! Most of those names I wouldnt register if they were available let alone pay auction prices.

May as well submit it, looks like it would be one of the better names in the auction. Might be worth registering houseshouses.eu and houses-houses.cm -you could flip them for several times what you paid, easy money
