    Hi,

Surprisingly I know very little about .com

Can anyone explain how to go about the following issue a friend of mine has?

    1. .com domain registered by a Namecheap.com reseller "companyx"
    2. companyx listed as admin/tech contact for domain in whois
    3. 123-reg transfer fails as admin/tech contact fails to respond
    4. companyx is "gone" not answering emails
    5. Namecheap.com appear to use Enom to register .com
    6. Friend is listed as registrant contact for domain?

How do we get this domain into our control??

Cheers in advance for any advice/process

not 100% sure, but I think it's the registrant contact email address that you probably need to change.

I don't think tech and admin have much to do with it?

    I may be very wrong.

Thanks for quick reply, the issue I have though is the "host" no longer exists so I am unsure how they can get changed?

.com transfers work off the admin contact, never the registrant contact.

Also you will need the EPP transfer code, which gets sent to the admin contact (usually).

Contact Namecheap.com and tell them that companyx is unreachable and you wish to change the admin contact and aquire the auth code, as you are the legal owner of the domain.

If they dont help contact Enom directly and advise them that their reseller is not helping and you wish to change the admin contact on the domain and get the auth code.
