    Hi,

I hold a pretty small amount of co.uk and .com domains mainly, less than 50 most of the time.

I'm with Domain Monster but they seem to have really closed the door customer service wise recently which is a shame as they used to be great before 123-reg got their filthy hands on the company.

I'm looking to move to a company that has really good customer service and isn't going to be too expensive on the odd new purchase, because I'm out of the UK I'm a little out of the loop on who are the good companies in this space these days.

    Any recommendations warmly welcomed!

    Thanks

Nice looking website and pricing seems good, but looks like no phone support or even sales? or did I miss it

No complaints with Crazydomains since moving a couple of hundred domains over from Namecheap. Although they are not UK based they have some reasonable prices a couple of times a year on renewals etc ( I was paying £3.99 a renewal while the offer was on last ).

Support is reasonable, via ticket answers within a few hours, live chat. Never tried phoning. But having said that the only time I've ever asked support is when I want them to speed up a transfer into my account after a tag change, its pretty much instant but if you leave it to their system it can sometimes take an hour or so to recognise the tag has changed if you purchase the transfer after the tag change. But again support speeded that up by manual check.

20i have been brilliant. Deal with actual people also who reply really quickly and go beyond the usual 'computer says no' routine. I use their wordpress hosting and its been great

Ahh - so it’s not just me who’s been feeling this :(
I’ve got 250+ names with DomainBox - same group - same lack of response from support - it took 3 weeks and a second long phone call to finally get someone in support to manually refresh a domain that had been renewed a few days after expiry, AND they changed a TAG on a UK without permission, or apology since...

So keen to follow this thread and try someone else

I use HiHosting.co.uk for my business website and about 300 domains on my own tag.
    It uses cPanel and WHM
No phone support but emails are answered very quickly any time of the day or night.

If you have lots of domains m4c you're probably better off getting your own tag at nominet. You benefit from full control over your domains, security, and the best registration/renewal pricing.

Thanks Rob - it's something I know I need to learn more about, I'm comfortable with the basic tech of using a registrar - but wouldn't know where to start if I'm the registrar... what's the best information resource on that?

    Thanks all.

Will be investigating all the options you have kindly listed here, telephone is quite an important one for me as it's a sign they are willing to help!

    Cheers

If you are/were soul director of the company surely they could do something for you.

    Otherwise that’s shocking

Nom dropped the ball on a few accounts that had been struck off and let people take over ltd company accounts after they had been struck off and it all got a bit messy which is why the rules are so strict now. tags can be transferred with ease but not memberships.
