Nominet is now seeking nominations for a member-elected non-executive director. The successful candidate would serve a three-year term.

Members of Nominet may propose individuals to stand for election. The person standing does not need to be a member of Nominet, but only members can propose, second and vote.

Nominations will be accepted until noon on the 7th June 2019 (BST).

More information, including a candidate pack detailing how to apply or propose a candidate, is available here.

Don't know that I have time to stand again this year, maybe 1 day we'll get an independent on the board!

While I think someone from Acorn should stand again this year...The problem is it’s a one seat year.

Therefore if you consider @monaghan got 223,698 last year with two seats:

You are going to need double that this year...

To win in a one seat year you need to do as well as Kelly 530,175 (2017) or Volker 955,849 (2016):

    2018 (two seats)
    Quota (to win): 540,180
    Cap (3% member vote): 48,616
    Valid capped votes: 1,620,540
James Bladel (566,290) Elected Stage 1
    David Thornton (446,372) > (540,798) Elected Stage 3
    Rob Golding (224,929)
    Denesh Bhabuta (95,420)
    Cameron Leask (81,547)

    2017 (one seat)

    Phil Buckingham (347,870)

And an encumbant with the backing of lots of large registrars/registries.
Not impossible to "unseat" but would mean it needing to be a 2/3 horse race.

I'm not standing this year, but expect to next year.

Apologies for the newbie question, but who has the votes?
I see reference to bye-laws but cant see how the votes are calculated.

Is there a mistake in that document with nearly all of the votes going to:
    1&1 Ionos SE 2,138,386 votes?

You'll need 1 more (on a cascading STV basis) votes than 2nd place ;)

With an expectation of appx 1million votes to win, yes it's be possible with roughly 300 smaller registrars - which is more than are likely to vote in total :(

That's not nearly all, if you scroll through there are many registrars with more. GoDaddy etc. (of course)

Anyone made it into a s/sheet for 2019's votes ?
I've been onsite at the DC most days, so not been at my desktop to make my own yet.
