Please be aware that there is a dress code and the following are prohibited - jeans and their close relations, leggings; jodhpur-style trousers; t-shirts; tracksuits; training shoes; plimsolls; flipflop shoes; denim clothing; and overalls.

EH!? I'm assuming this is a thing that has actually happened at Lord's before, for them to learn from? Observation-ally, those codes don't match exactly with any of those listed on the Lords website, but anyway. Different areas of the club have different dress codes though

 

I've had to rethink my whole attire

 

Appx 10 years ago - the last Nominet event at Lords - that had a dress-code (most were in suits).
This time it's supposed to involve some training rather than just the usual tour (been there,done that several times) which seems incongruent with the idea of no trainers etc !

 

At least it's walking distance to some nice pubs and restaurants if I'm not allowed in

The view down the river from the pub where I ended up was fantastic

Hope those who had appropriate attire had a good time, I just wasnt wasting 4+ hrs on a round trip to get changed - far too nice day for that nonsense.

 

Wasn't there a Primark nearby?
