Just received an aggressive email reporting me to an American state organisation for what I assume is spamming. They said there has been thousands of complaints about me and to remove them from my lists. News to me. I never email anybody re marketing etc. It could be a domain name with a historical marketing list that redirects to my site I guess but unlikely. Would you even bother replying? ps there are no links in their email
You can check spam blacklists. https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx It's relatively easy to spoof emails if you aren't using authentication settings like DMARC.
