I have a reseller account with Fasthosts for 20 years at the beginning they were good company now the price rises have gone insane in the last year, literally 20%+ on many services, not to mention the ridiculous domain renewal costs, and they're monetizing the shit out of everything you use that used to free as part of the reseller service. Its a shame really you would have thought there would have been some discounts for loyalty.

Thank god I've start moving away from these jokers, stay well clear of them and 1&1 too.

Netistrar is the place to be. Fasthosts has always been a joke. I mean, look at what they did over RoR lol.

Just use Krystal. It’s the best hosting service in the UK.

You can use my affiliate link. I’ll get £25 if you buy a hosting plan.

Agreed. I use Krystal's infrastructure service katapult.io for all of our server requirements and I've used Krystal for hosting directly in the past and the service is exemplary. Plus, 100% green energy, how can you argue with that.

Have you tried the Onyx managed hosting? I’m looking to migrate some of my wp sites there.

Yes I did use Onyx for a bit, it is very good because the platform is designed from the ground up with WordPress in mind. I had zero problems when I used it but ended up migrating away from it to create my own in-house platform. But yes, highly recommend – as I'm sure you're aware, Krystal is probably the only provider in the UK that genuinely provides exemplary service, even if it's at cost to them.

They’re support is amazing. I’ve been with them for 6 years now and never had any issues. I host 150 different websites across their business and reseller packages. Simon Blackler is also involved in Nominet.

I'm with Netistrar, very good service. One of the few that are outside of the debt ridden big players whose access to the free money printer is running out as rates rise. Expect big price increases from GoDaddy & co as they need to stop the massive losses.

I choose Netistrar because Andrew Bennett is the founder and he's well connected with the UK domain industry and generally knows his stuff. I got on their VIP plan some time ago and it's very good pricing, I recommend it to anybody.

Krystal have just announced that they're increasing prices in July on their reseller package from £149 pa to £199 pa (both + VAT), maybe other packages too, I haven't checked. As mentioned, it looks like we can expect to see more of this.

Just checked and see they've increased the reseller price already for new users. Other prices look to be the same.

Tbh I was really disappointed with Krystal, I thought the signup flow was shocking and the control panel was confusing, it has a slick front end homepage but its like someone has done a rough job of modding WHMCS.

I have been experimenting with siteground last few weeks and have to say am thus far very impressed, wp is like lightning, support good, install and SSL certs all free and instant. Not the cheapest but I don't mind if it's decent service. I expect some catch though down the line.. there always is...

So the fast in fasthosts is how quickly they raise their prices?

I like AWS. In fact I love it... https://aws.com If you know how to architect things effectively you can host stuff for peanuts.

If anybody is interested in WordPress-managed hosting, give me a PM with your requirements. I will give you a bespoke price for what you need. You'll be on your own managed/unmanaged VPS, all you'll have to do is focus on your WordPress installation.
