Why do 123-Reg insist on being such tossers just emailed them to cancel a hosting account they have told me I need to call them to do so.

There meant to be a company involved in the online world yet they insist on me calling some retentions bod to explain why I no longer want to use them its a Joke.

Just one more reason I'll never sending money there way again

The reason we ask you to call us is so we can gather feedback on the following;

- Why you have decided to cancel the product/service
- Any issues that you have had with the product/service
- If we can assist you in any way to make the product/service work for you
- If the customer support experience you received was good

If you do not want to call us, simply reply to the support ticket providing a contact number and suitable time so one of our Retentions team can contact you.

The point is I don't want to have to waste my time calling somebody to explain my reasons for leaving.
I ordered online and wish to cancel online if you need to know why place a short survey in the cancellation form like other providers do.

I wanted a wordress blog on a cheap uk hosting provider...

They provide 'webapps' to do this - which are pretty much useless.

You can't install it to the root of the domain ie www.domain.co.uk/

You have to pick a directory, then forward it on (a waste of title characters).

Also, since it's a virtual app, loads of clever templates don't work correctly as you haven't got direct access to the files.

They don't tell you this when you signup - and won't give the money back.

Total BS.

Our 123apps feature for quick installation of CMS application is aimed at the beginner or novice customer.

For more advanced users who can always install the application yourself into your 123-reg hosting space and you will have full access to install into the root and change themes etc.

Back to the original question , we only ask for this information on cancellation so that we can review our services and improve our products, customer support and customer experience.

If you want to drop me the support ticket number I will make sure your request is processed.

Zero to hero in one post rep-wise. Ricky; nothing personal, but your company should understand that people don't need the hassle, and allow them to cancel without any fuss. Last time I tried you, you were insisting on a fax or a snail mail letter. Domainers don't do this.
 
Except it didn't work Ricky as I went through with your customer services team.

I was getting a 500 server error on vanilla wordpress installation, and guess what - you don't give access to server logs.

Total time wasted: 3 hours.

Time it took on heart (using their 1-click-install that does it correctly): 30 seconds.
 
I stopped using them a couple of years ago but still get their emails (until I just unsubscribed) here was their latest that made me laugh, such insincere bullshit.

Well they have sorted it now at last. shame it was so much hassle to get such a simple support issue sorted.
