    Just seen one renewed ticketwallets_co_uk

Still no drop action, monitoring 37 domains.

Often the system sorts itself out over night, it depends on what broke and who investigated.

Sorry Guys I think the problems today were caused in part due to one of our catch servers not capturing an EPP response correctly on a domain that was associated with the Conficker Worm.

For nominets security I wont go into details as to what happened but suffice to say we are still cleaning up ourselves after it and looking at the incoming logs Nominet are also still clearing the backlog.

If this was the cause then I do deeply apologise to you all and of course to the Nominet IT and Support staff.

    Thanks for the updates.

Still no drops from what I can see (checked all the .org.uks and a few .co.uks on my list).

Seems odd that a single client failing would cause the service to drop dead

Just on an EPP read too?

If there's more to it than that - perhaps one client causing it would probably more likely indicate a lack of resilience at Nominet I'd say!

  14. I'd be surprised if anything namestrands has mentioned has caused a problem. With the EPP/DAC query limitations in place on the send side of things, and the fact that on the "read" side of things all your doing is "reading" not actually sending anything.

Well lets hope that is the case but when nominet called us this afternoon it was clear that there was an issue. We are still cleaning things up here so its clear that Nominet still are dealing with an extensive queue themselves. Once things stop coming in here I will assume that the queue is cleared.

This was an extremely rare occurrence that neither party expected.

seems to be dropping now, not checked if yesterday's list is also dropping today of whether they still have something to resolve for that.
