Hi everyone,
I've already made a few posts, but I've just realised I never came here and introduced myself.
How rude.
So, a bit about me. I've worked in IT for a while, for the last few years in teaching. A few months ago I was explaining to some of my students about SEO and its many intricacies, and telling them what they should do to publicise their sites. One of them cut in with a comment to the tune of 'If you've got it all worked out, why aren't you getting domains up there, then?'.
My embarrased lack of a good answer and my thoughts over the next few days convinced me that this was a very good point.
I took a breath, liberated my credit card from lock-down and bought some domains (listed here: Useful Domains). Actually, there was a little more research than that, but you get the idea.
So, why am I here?
In short, I've learned much from browsing the posts here. As others have said, this forum seems to be populated by friendly, intelligent people that don't mind giving their honest opinion. Compared to some of the childish point scoring that exists on other domain forums, this is very refreshing.
I think I've recovered from the (justified) mauling that my students gave me, so perhaps I'm ready to properly contribute. I hope I'm up to the standard already in evidence...
Cheers,
Mike.
