Hi, newbie here, need to know how you catch a dropped domain.

Is it instantly available once dropped? and do you just keep checking if it's available to register with a registrar i.e. 1and1?

If the name is of any value you will never get it manually.

You have to become a member of Nominet, get a Tag and then write or have written a script to use the Nom DAC System to try to catch the name.

It's not cheap to get going and the competition is fierce.

You can use Drop Catching companies but their success rate these days is limited.

Read through the forum and you should find all the details you need to get the full picture.

I must add that, i'm not particularly interested in catching domains, it's just that a particular name I wish to have for my future business is suspended and is about to drop I think in a month or so according to the 90 day thing.
