Hi all,

I want to create a network of around 20 - 25 websites made from dropped .uk domains with few links on them. I am NOT looking for high PR dropped domains, just a PR1 or 2 with a small amount of links (5 - 100). I am also not concerned with good quality domain names, just that at least one of the keywords I want will be included in the name. Even that is not really necessary.

I am currently using unwanted-domain-names which have been absolutely brilliant over the last few weeks but I need to tap into more names. I have been recommended a tool called D.R.T but as I understand it I need to import a list of recently dropped domains (or very soon to be dropped domains?) to it. Where do I find those lists?

Any help or advice would be really welcome. I had a good look around and most are interested in the actual domain whereas I am more interested in the history of the domain. Can anyone give me some tips?

P.S I am not doing this for adsense or to sell on, I am purely doing it to create a small network of sites that will hopefully help in the ranking of the main site which is a small-medium niche market.

The pagerank of UK domain names is cancelled when the domain is dropped, so all these sites have now are the links, not the pagerank (if you don't believe me check the PR for the domains now on something like Google Needle - The Exclusive Tool for Google Services).

My question would be "why are you doing this"? I'm not sure that it'll benefit the main site, and if Google decide that you're gaming the system (i.e. if you host all the sites on the same IP, create loads of spurious links to your main site, links sites that had very disparate subjects before they dropped, etc) then your main site could end up being penalised or losing it's search listings altogether.

Up to you of course, but I'd have said that building sites that actually have value wrt their content would be a better long term play.

Thanks Ty. I appreciate your concern. To be honest, i did not really want to get too much in to why im doing this as i am not sure myself. All i can tell you is that the sites i currently have, are doing very nicely on Google and are all proper sites with excellent information on them. I am also not really pointing to my main site only and even when i am, its with differing anchor texts and nothing spammy at all. With regards to IP addresses, i have that covered also. :)

Saying all that, is there anyone here that can shed some light on my main question?

I know that if you sign up to the caught.co.uk dropcatching service, you can see soon to drop domains. I have a list of dropcatching services and the UK ones might be able to help with your question.

ok, Thanks for the info accelerator but i am looking for a service that will
1. Either provide me with a comprehensive dropped or very soon to be dropped domains with a rough idea if it has some links pointing to the domain or....
2. a comprehensive downloadable list of domains that i can import into a program such as DRT to analyse them.

I also need to be able to search for domain names that contain key words rather then a search for exact domain name. Is there such a service?

You are asking the members to tell you (and the rest of the WWW) how they make money. It's not that tricky - all the info can be pieced together.

Cease and desist ...

I am enjoying reading thread... getting more information.... thank you to this site.. and more power.
