Adwords to Visitors

Anyone have any stats or figures on number of maximum clicks through CPC for a keyword and actual searches for that keyword a month?

I know I can use the Adwords Tool but this can be widely out at times.

I know probably different for different industries, but anything ballpark?

Have you tried the free keyword tool at wordstream? Data is based on more than just google.

The adwords tool is a weird old beast.

I have one site that the key phrase supposedly gets 110000+ searches per month (which could well be right) and I was getting aroung 3500 hits per month when I was no1.

Another site supposedly gets 9000ish searches per month for the key phrase & that gets 6500 hits per month while the site is 2nd/3rd.

I guess this could be right, but I'm far from convinced, especially since I now hold data from the 1st & 2nd placed in Google for the 110000 searches sites, and the total visitors is not even 10,000 per month let alone ten times that figure.
