Guys,

A heads up, I've just had a phone call from my accountants they are encouraging all his clients to reclaim their bank charges for business accounts.. Apparently, one client has managed to get bank over £2k in charges, which included interest on overdraft, overdraft fees etc etc for the last 6 years. I'm going to calculate mine and see if it is worth it, I suggest you do as well.

I did it for my current account, I didn't even apply, I phoned up barclaycall to have a moan and also mentioned I'd be writing off soon to claim charges back... two days later I received a letter saying we'd like to give you x amount, if you accept please send this back... sent back, four days later and money in the bank... three days after that I left the country and moved to Romania haha

I donno how to take that.. :???:

I got £1500 back.. I did work it out at something like £2400 in charges and they offered me £1500. Could have got more I guess but was quick and easy so I took the dosh.

ha, as soon as I got that letter from tha bank I said to myself "I'm finally off" The only way you would understand my world is if you were watching me on telly. It's amazing, fate, you just can't knock it until it's your time to move on.

Wondered why I was getting so much on 'banking' domains when the keyword was set to 'reclaim bank charges' now I know why - you have been clicking on the links - LOL !!!

it's still hit and miss this guys, some courts are throwing the claims out. If your in Hull you are scr3wed, a local judge is throwing out all claims. A judge in Leeds in paying out on everyone.

It's a mess,

if you get offered something, take it and run.

Am I just one of a small select few who have nothing to claim back? I've had one letter in my entire history, and never gone over my limit/bounced a cheque etc... Maybe this shows that as a nation we are bad at money management?

I sent a recorded letter today to Abbey, asking for £1500 + interest, so we'll see what happens - worth a bash as it costs very little to try. ;)

Its just been on the news that the banks are stopping people reclaiming there charges back and closing there accounts.

People have been reclaiming there bank charges for 6 months now, it also says in the terms and conditions that you are signing up to that you agree to the charges so be carefull ;) :)

People may well have signed up to charges 15 years ago when it was £3 and I was 15 years old. They certainly didn't sign up to £30 three times a month and it coming off immediately.

Interesting, DB. :)

I would say if anyone fancies a go, do it quickly now - you've nothing to lose.

Just take all the money out of your account and try it. What are they going to do then? Close the acccount? God forbid...

Banks are like vultures circling on their customer to sell them unecessary Payment Proctection Insurance, expensive mortages and bullying customers into converting overdrafts into personal loans or secured loans etc. - any of this ring true ? never mind the bank charges.

If you owe them money then unfortunately you get taken to the cleaners as they have you ....

I will stop having a beef now, but best of luck - expect however once you reclaim your charges to be politely asked to leave - always difficult if you are overdrawn :( - so plan accordingly.

Best Regards
