I'm monitoring rankings for a UK website on 100 keyword terms for over 3 months for a client and comparing it to its competition.

Client is making progress on Google rankings and is now ranked on the first 4 pages for over 20 terms.

However it is yet to rank on ANY of the 100 terms on Bing.co.uk, yet its competitors are well ranked on both (but not consistently on same words).

The site has never been banned or been used for any other purpose than a legitimate business.

Is their something I need to do to get started obtaining Bing rankings?

Bing is a strange one, have you checked pages are indexed ?

I've found often they have totally overlooked my sites, they slurp up loads of bandwidth but still no luck.

I've submitted various links to http://www.bing.com/toolbox/submit-site-url and have limited success, seems bing either loves you or ignores you.

They take agesss to index sites, so now you've submitted it should speed things up.

Bing also really likes exact match domain names.

Thanks, Christmas has come early.

Following on from exact match domains, it also loves exact match pages.

I find that Bing is very slow to properly index and rank pages compared to Google, but once it does months and months down the line you start to get some really nice rankings that stick.

Just a shame Bing gets no traffic  - or is it beginning to make any dent on G.

Can't find much reliable info on G vs Bing vs Yahoo current market share.

Anyone know any decent sources

Google gets about 90% in UK I think
However don't despise it. Most people (me included) find Bing traffic converts better.
I definitely find you have to wait longer to rank well in Bing
