The original owner from 96 could still have the trade mark but not the domain any longer??

true - they could. Be a bit wierd if it has changed hands since then, with the domain name moving on but the TM staying put. Again, I think there is more here than meets the eye.

Another possibility is that it's the same owner and they asked for more cash after the auction for the mark. The name is worthless to the cowboys without it...Who knows...time will tell...
