Did I buy a blacklisted domain?

I bought doublememoryfoammattress.co.uk a bit over a month ago and just did what I generall do with my new domains. Set up WP, threw in a few posts, social bookmark it a bit, enlisted it to Google Webmaster Tools and waited for a week. Since it was not indexed in a week, I wrote a few articles and posted them around. Nothing aggressive, but again aggressive enough to have it at least indexed. But nothing happened. Strange thing is that GWT show spider visits, but site:doublememoryfoammattress.co.uk shows nothing.

I was surprised to get the domain in the first place, because .com, .net, .org, .org.uk and even .info, .biz and.me.uk were already taken. But archive.org doesn't show any history on this domain.

What should I do? How can I determine whether the domain is actually blacklisted?

You haven't closed off the body or html in the source. That won't help, though doesn't really answer your question.

put these in goole search;

site:doublememoryfoammattress.co.uk

allinurl:doublememoryfoammattress.co.uk

doesn't bode well, you may have to ask for re-inclusion (in webmaster tools)

Thanks guys, I'll look into that. Although it probably isn't the reason because I installed the same theme to a site I bought a few days later and it got indexed in a day or two.

I know its obvious, but you havnt got admin/settings/privacy ticked have you?

How do I do that?

I just replaced the theme altogether, don't want to use one that has hidden links in it. My html knowledge is poor so they might have slipped something else in there.

It's an artiseer generated theme, did you not make it yourself?

I don't understand. If you are just asking about a domain why did you post the domain name in an SEO friendly manner to gain a better backlink?

Sorry to sound sceptical!

no need to be sceptical, i always do that. I really do have this problem, but at the same time a backlink doesnt hurt.

The site is in yahoo and bing, theres only problem with Google.

If you have been penalised the last thing I'd want to be doing is getting anchor text links.

I've never been penalised (don't see a reason why I would be in this case), so I really don't know what the acceptable behaviour is in such cases ;)

I removed the anchor now and filed a reconsideration request. Let's see what will happen.

@newpbc & sa_20v: thanks for the links.

It's worth checking your .htaccess file too as you can block robots/IPs in there.

Also try this in Webmaster's tools:

I tried this and the bot was succesful.
