Nice sale and purchase I'd say. What happened to this auction towards the end though? One minute it had dozens of bids and was at over £1,000 and the next minute it was back down to £140. Couple of minutes later and it gets bidded back up to over £1,000 again... :?

- if you own a dslr and want a new lens you probably won't be searching for 'camera lenses'

- you'll be much more specific: e.g. 'Nikon 80/200 f2.8 AF'

Only a complete jelly would search for 'camera lenses' or am i missing something?

I can see this domain working very well for somebody willing to put some effort into it. Make it a central hub for all manner of camera lenses, and you could optimise it in all sorts of ways.

True, although it does make an extremely memorable name for a store or 'lense finder' affiliate website. I know a few people into photography and they are always building up a collection of lenses (which aren't cheap) so could be great for repeat visits.

I can see this domain working very well for somebody willing to put some effort into it. Make it a central hub for all manner of camera lenses, and you could optimise it in all sorts of ways.

Those were my thoughts exactly when I placed a bid on it (didn't bother going higher when the price shot up by £1,000 in three minutes though!)

This is what I don't understand about domains.

Cameralenses goes for over £1k and Dslrphotography doesn't even make £50

Surely there is the same potential in the second as in the first + a shed load more.

Do tend to agree Julian most would search for the brand and type they were after i.e Nikon 35- 70 mm lens etc better sale than buy (end user’s ) … otherwise not so great without a lot of work.. But hope whomever bought it does well
