DL Sale: ert.co.uk (1,418 GBP)

I feel in hindsight selling the .uk for £140 was not my best bit of pricing.

Murray, did you sell it to the person who caught the .co.uk and then they put it on DL?

It's a tough one because in a way I think 10% of .co.uk is actually fair if they aren't connected.

But did it push the price up for the co.uk? Probably but how much is a guess... My guess is 30% more with the .uk

It's surprising to see LLLs go for this amount after so many of them have been selling for 2-300.

I was thinking together they were probably £350-400 so £140 seemed ok

Obviously I was wayyy off.

Could be that the .co.uk seller perhaps proactively managed to bring end users into the auction...

Maybe, bought by a domainer though looking at the whois.

Ah, sorry, I posted the previous from my mobile so did not check the Whois first.

New theory (as unprovable as the last one): maybe the new buyer has an existing relationship with one or other of the obvious end-users for the domain, and knows they'll be able to "flip" it accordingly.

Seems high, if speculating. Sometimes auctions get into heated battles and you can overspend. Buyer could think £700 a piece to justify.

I'll be honest Murray I did think of you when the price started climbing! I thought it was a good 'un but I did not expect it to reach those heights, £140 for the .uk seemed fair to me as well at the time (I appreciate I would say that) based on recent other LLL sales. Some obvious high profile end-users for ERT though, so I may be kicking myself in the future for not approaching them...
