Hi All

If Im setting up a site selling domain names I want to easily be able to add and remove names as they come and go. Whats the best system to do this with? I would like something that I can log into and edit from any computer. Im familiar with Word press. It would be good if there was something like this that could be used.

Any ideas?

Thanks

James

Are all the domains yours that you're selling or other people's too?

If they are just yours and you know exactly when they are being sold or new ones added then you could have them in a database like mysql.

Then if your site is database, driven all you have to do is delete a line from the mysql database and the site will be updated. I think that this is the nicest way to do it, but you need to know a bit of php.

Other ways to do it:
Could just build the pages adding the info manually through deamweaver or something, then delete from there.
Or find a classifieds script and customise it for selling domains.

The reason I asked at the start if you'll be selling other people's domains is that if so, you would probably need to create a way for them to log in and delete the domains that they've sold, or add their new ones.

Hi woopwoop.

To start with it would just be my domains. I would like to use a database with a PHP program but it would have to be a free or very cheap one that I could buy and install. I have considered using a classifieds program but not sure it would be able to be amended to suit my needs.

Thanks

James

domainportfolio is a nice little one, although it could do with a categories search, however its free (just make a donation) but its got a problem.

If you have a shared package and your host has open_basedir or safe_mode enabled for PHP (inphp.ini) - So while you can instal it, if your on a shared server it wont work.

Shame really........

Hi All

Sorry for taking so long to reply as I'm sure your understand I have a million and one projects going at once. I downloaded DomainPortfolio.us - Domain Name Portfolio
I cant for the life of me get the captcha.php to work when people email me the image does not show up. This means I cant be contacted.

Any suggestions on what to do to fix. I have contacted the guys at the site for help but nothing seems to be working. I guess I will have to try another pro gramme if I cant get this one to work.

Thanks

James

Try asking your site guys to "recompile PHP with the GD libraries".
