Hi everyone,
I've just been looking at the domainlore auction website from a twitter link, and the website shows generic names as well as two others, namely:
veritas.co.uk, and
tristar.co.uk

Are people allowed to sell these if they are trademarked names ?

Just curious.
[Note: I am not thinking of going down the TM road in any way myself, I'm just curious as the names alone made me think "hang on, these are big companies, aren't they ?"]

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for your reply Foz, I see what you mean.

I just got confused as on the ipo.gov.uk website each term has trademarks against it, and wasn't sure how/whether that affects things - i guess it depends on what use the seller/purchaser of the domain name has planned for the name.

Many thanks again.

Almost every single word has multiple trade marks against them, so its not a major issue.

Generic Terms are generally fine, its made up words which are 100% screwed, like Mazuma etc.
