I buy a lot off of ebay that I order for customers who come into my shop.

I am sick fed up with these lying feckin sellers that state they live in the UK and dispatch 2nd class delivery.

So after 4 days you start emailing to ask where your stuff is. Always the same reply "your goods have been shipped, please be patient"

10 days later your stuff arrives from China or 11-12 days later your stuff arrives from the UK with a post date from the day before. So they get it shipped from China repackage and send out themselves.

I have had this 5 times in the last 2 months. I just make sure I leave a negative with a warning message for others.

They should be banned.

rant over .......

This is the most annoying thing on ebay.

Your sat in allday waiting for a package to arrive that hasnt even been sent yet, with the seller telling you he has sent it to try and keep you happy. I would much rather have the truth because your going to check the postage date anyway!

I must have either been lucky or do not buy enough things from ebay, all the things I have bought came fairly quickly. That being said was there no warning in the feedback?

Totally agree and Ebay know this but don't care.

The funny thing is that they usually have very high feed back and mostly positive

That's if it turns up at all...

Remember this ?

I once had to do a chargeback on a non-existent training programme. Thankfully the buyer holds all the power (unless you pay cash which can be a very dumb move..)

Anything from China by Local Chinese Hook-Up sorts out for me.

There is a MASSIVE network of repacking going on in birmingham, where stuff is shipped by the truck load and redispatched.

What pisses me off is these fucking hong kong and chinese sellers who say "Genuine Brand Product" where brand is say Sony Eric and Product is Battter, so it says "Genuine Sony Ericsson Battery" and it turns up and its so light that the wind almost blows it away and it lasts 20 minutes, and you complain and they want it shipping at your expense back to china heh.

I solved that problem, phone ebay up and say "product not as described, its a forgery reported to the police, crime ref:, charge back or else". Its amazing how quickly ebay will refund an item when you paid with a barclaycard, with other cards they need convincing but barclaycard they do it without a second thought.

They even tell you to just bin the product even if the seller asks for it, so don't know i the seller loses the money or not.

From all accounts, most fake houses will usually refund the money simply to avoid the attention of the authorities. The profits are so good, it's nothing to them.

I must be dealing with the wrong ones, they was adamant they would not refund it unless I returned it.

The product in question here was the DS-980 Sony Ericsson Hands free (Multipoint Bluetooth), I wanted to hook my laptop and my phone into the one headset. The price I paid wasn't even fake money it was about £10 cheaper than most website, but because they took paypal it suited me better.

A few years back I bought 2 x 4GB mp4 players which turned out to be 1GB and only the start up screen and radio worked :(

However, only last month I order a laptop charger knowing it only cost £7 including p+p so a lot cheaper than an original and I have to say it works 100% and my laptop actually seems to work better since using this charger ?

This came from China or somewhere like that and took about 2 weeks to deliver.

There is a seller from birmingham on ebay that sells loads of fake computer related goods such as RAM etc. They have managed to set up a ring of companies around the world under the same name so that when you ring their "legit" business in birmingham its allways "my uncles, brothers, wifes, nephew who sent the item from our Indian branch. Email him about the item, nothing to do with us!!"

When it happened to me I rang up Samsung and trading standards and they all pretty much told me to just resolve it with the seller and get my money back. Was quite strange how they didnt really care, but I guess fakes are just a way of life now.

Much like that old saying kill em all let heaven/hell sort em out.

Pay on credit card and let your bank deal with it :p

I hope it doesn't catch fire in the middle of the night and burn your house down. I tell people to avoid Chinese third party chargers because I've heard about them blowing up or shorting the laptop.

tbh, I've heard the same including the sad story of a 7 year old boy who was killed by electricution when his mam bought him a ds charger.

I only charge it till 1 hour before bed and then wait for it to cool down and take it out of the plug socket and laptop.

Funny enough it says on the charger.

''WARNING > this device may cause harmful interference and this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation ''

I've had it for 2 months and used it for loads of hours, I only just read that label yesterday otherwise would never have even tried it.

Strange - when I was tiny (1957) I heard an item on the wireless about a man who came back from his holiday to find that his house had burned down because he had left his gramophone switched on. When I was young, I was obsessive about turning off the gramophone.

When I was considerably older, I had a disturbing experience with a toaster. I was making toast. The mother in law rang up and rattled on until I noticed smoke emanating from the kitchen. I found that the toaster had turned into a blob of molten plastic, and I was staring at a heap of $hit.

In a later incident I was lucky to avoid the house burning down because a car battery charger literally went into meltdown mode in the early hours of the morning. I had an extinguisher, and used a couple of buckets of water to completely extinguish the fire, but it ruined the furniture, carpet and decorations.

Whatever, the ratbag aspect is that in the instructions for use of the automated instruments of terror is always a caveat that they should never be used without being observed and supervised.

Watch that kettle boil ...
