Its funny how with really not much effort you can get sites to rank quite high up and rather fast.

The site Get Domains in my sig I developed a little bit just as a place for Namedrive to redirect to and allow people to view a few of my domains and contact me.

I filled a few pages out with usefull information just to help it in the search engines at the same time.

Ive had the Website up about a week.

For the term Nominet Transfer I rank at 3 (only 1 under Nominet)

Still checking other terms but I was impressed with that one as the site is getting alot of traffic from that search alone.

When you have a look at the rough guestimate of competition or other pages which are indexed ranking for the term

Results 1 - 10 of about 147,000 for

Anything under 2 million is very achievable depending on the strength of the top 5 without too much work, anything with only a few hundred thousand is not competitive and should be pretty easy - that is not to say they won't get traffic as you say - some low volume keywords do get ok traffic.

If you check the search term in inverted commas

"nominet transfer"

You are then talking much lower......

remember the google efect as well - new sites can appear quite high for a short time and then drop like a stone only to come back 6-12 months later.
