Jeeez, talk about a monopoly!! How long before google car insurance and so on. come on Bill, you are slacking!

Thanks for heads up Scott.

I presume if you have Adsense you will only have it as an option when you login if you physically live in N.America irrespective of your traffic source for now it's tied to the publishers location.

I think this is great news for portfolio owners, for now we can see the liquidity of our names increase and the respective value.

Its going to make domaining more accessible and increase competition amongst the parking companies, which is a good thing.

Obviously Google would not wish to cannibalize their own interests and see that they can probably take a good chunk out of the transaction.

Now where this bar is set is going to make or break the parking companies and it remains to be seen how this pricing will affect the market...and the existing parking companies.

Will be interesting to see if these landers out perform the "parking providers" ones, in terms of actual revenue.

Seems to have the content feed being served up on the initial landing page with organic web results on the second page, in conjunction with search feed sponsored results.

If you use a parking provider that has a search feed (2-click motion lander), then these Adsense for domains landers may not perform that well.

A number of other negatives; No name server's provided, No for sale or inquire link, No control over keyword or terms blocking, Stats. will be rather basic (going off Adsense for publishers).

Some good points...

G may be just trying to grow the pie rather than gain more share by taking the rug from the parking companies. I certainly like the services provided by most companies! ND and fabulous provide some great services and there is a lot of value added in there.

I think its great for everyone concerned...competition is good! I hope this will encourage parking companies to be more transparent. As one can make a direct comparison with Google directly.

Example Google parking page, not very inspiring:

From their FAQ:

5. What is the minimum amount of traffic I need to sign up for a AdSense for domains account?

Your network of sites should generate 750,000 page views per month to be eligible for the AdSense for domains service.

Does anyone get 750,000 views per month to their parked pages at present? And if you are getting that many hits each month, surely you would have a site and not a parking page, no? My busiest non parked site only gets 4000 - 6000 visits per month

scary where this will go

1. Google will become a domain auction company
2. Joe Punter will start buying domains to make money, hence increasing the value of some existing portfolios
3. Google share price will increase
4. Sedo's revenue will plummet as domain parkers will move to park directly with Google
5. Sedo will massively shrink
6. Many more domains will be traded
7. Domains will get values similar to any other shares/assets based on revenue income
8. Google will become a true domain registrar meaning Joe Punter will think it is easy to buy domains
9. Google will buy Worpress to allow Joe Punter to have a established open source cms

My thoughts:)
