Did you previously always select the "uk results" option ?

If you do, then I believe you are in the very low % of people who do this

There's been a June algorithm change seeing lots of american/foreign listings appearing in the main 'all' results - I tracked it around the 7th/8th

I sure do (or did!)

If i'm looking to buy something, 99% of the time it will be in the UK and I want to have it in 2 days at the most :D, so I dont want to see a listing of sites from other countries.

.

Fair point.
And presuming the algorithm change is sorted to the way it used to be, this is going to have the opposite effect of how UK people surf using google.

If, at the moment the majority of users go to google.co.uk and select "search the web" they will no longer be able to do this. By default everyone that goes to google.co.uk will be searching UK results only.

The only way to do a "search the web" is if they click on the link that states "go to google.com"

.

The more I think about this the more I like.

(provided the algorithm is fixed).

Makes sense to be listiing UK business first as default. I take it back google. Good idea.

Everyone will be automatically surfin the way I do.
