Wanted: Domain Appraisal Help please - scrap gold site

Hello,
firstly I'm sorry to put this in probably the wrong section, but I need some advice please.

I own a scrap gold site, its the or g // uk one in my sig.

It ranks between 1st & 2nd in Google for that term and earns around £500 pm in G ads.

I've been made an offer for it from a scrap gold dealer, but I think it's just way too low.

What do you think would be a fair price based on the ranking and the earnings i'm already getting from it plus its potential to a dealer?

You want at least 12 months revenue = 6k
I wouldn't go any less.

How long has it held that ranking? A buyer will want to make sure its going to stay in that position to be worth 12x. What did they offer out of interest, can you share as others on here might want to make a better offer.

If you're earning 500/month as an affiliate, you can bet that the merchant's making much more than that. 12x your monthly income should be a minimum I'd guess, even though of course the ranking can't be guaranteed. After all, they're probably making a minimum of 3-4x what you're making (I'd guess) so their risk is only a few months at best.

It's been no 1 or 2 for over 8 months now, maybe over 12 months.

They've offered 6K which I thought was a bit on the measly side, but i'm thinking more from the perspective of what it's worth to them rather than what I'm earning from it.

If they're making 20% or so then it adds up to a big chunk of cash very quickly that they'd earn from it.

But I guess I can also see they'd worry about whether it'll stay at the top or not.

PS - the earnings are all adsense.

one thing I would consider is that G could chuck that site out (or any non authority site really) of the serps overnight. Although it ranks well it's just a disposable template with some fodder content - this is not a criticism as it dioes the job i'm just being realistic.

Consider the possibility in 6 months time when its drifted down to page 2 of g - will you be making £500 pm and getting 6k offers?

Then there is the seperate question of the domain value but with most .org.uk is encapsulated within the serp position and potential methinks so I think its worth £500 at least on own in currwent market.

Alternatively hang on to it and enjoy the revenue.
