"Toyota, for example, could register europe.toyota and usa.toyota as well as set up sites for individual brands (highlander.toyota) and use targeted domains for different markets such as customers and suppliers (suppliers.toyota, dealers.toyota, buying.toyota).
Indicators suggest that consumers will embrace this change."
Yeah yeah just go toyota.com/highlander... are five key presses too much to handle? it's all very nice, but people will still have to remember the words in front of .toyota and how much advertising is a company going to do to need to end up wiith product.toyota a hundred times?
The only good thing I can see from this is the ability to just type in .product, that may well succeed, forget the products placed in front. But I just typed in .co.uk and it resolved to the internal msn search so I guess that wont be happening, now that would be dramatic otherwise just another gimmick for bods with the moollah.
Old news anyway aint it, still costs $250k+ to kick it off. They state 300-500 interested initially, wow ground breaking... 2 billion websites, 300 interested, global phenomenon it aint.
