I have a .co.uk that may be wanted by one of the worlds largest companies -Help?

One of the worlds largest companies is rebranding a major part of their operation with a the same name as my company. I own the .co.uk for this company name (it is a good name). What would be the best course of action? Should I wait for them to approach me or get someone to approach on our behalf? If so who?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

Hard to be definitive without the full details but I'd say:

a) Don't approach them (stender is spot on!).

b) Double check your current usage of the domain name to make sure that it's not conflicting with theirs.


An alternative view would be to get some legal advice because their name change could be infringing YOUR rights - bring the fight to their doorstep... I wouldn't recommend this route though :mrgreen:

If I were in your shoes I would not offer them the domain, is the domain a fully developed website with your company content ?, if yes then I would remain quiet, let them change their name,website etc to the new name and then they would probably approach you.

It would probably be bad publicity for them if they were to take you to court over the domain (if you have content and it relates to your company name)
