Hello,

I intend to develop a site for the UK market and have a highly searched 2 word domain in mind. It's available to register in the .me.uk extension and the .biz extension. I can also get the .info pretty cheap.

Now, my question is, which of these three extensions will have the most credibility in the UK? Also, if I set the geographic target for the .info or .biz in Google's Webmaster tools to target the United Kingdom, will they rank as high as the .me.uk?

Any feedback will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

.me.uk is not yet in the market. i'd say take the .info instead as it has a global appeal even if your target is only UK..i'm not so much a fan of .biz unless it's in a killer category.

unless it's like mobilephones.me.uk or cars.me.uk, it will not get that much attention.

hope this helps.

That does help a lot. I had narrowed it down to .me.uk or .info after I posted my question here.

I'll take your advice and go with the .info domain. Thank you very much.

Bear in mind that Google hasn't been so keen on ranking .info domains highly due to the amount of spam sites on these domains.

.me.uk probably looks worse than .info, but I'd imagine it's easier to rank for uk specific stuff.

I agree. I would go for the me.uk over .info if you are targeting the UK market. In fact, if you was targetting a worldwide market I wouldn't even go for .info (I would plump for .biz).

Thank you nickynoodles, springer and Captain for your respective inputs. Looks like the .info isn't available anymore as it's been sold, so I've got the option of registering the .me.uk and .biz. The .me.uk it is then :)
