I'm redoing all site metrics because some figures are erroneous, drop out, etc. Which metrics do people use nowadays? If you don't want to post here please PM me. Thanks.

To be fair only local search, CPC, archive date, year regged and ose/majestic data are the only things that matter imo.

Is there an easy way to check for how many other extensions a string is taken in e.g. .com, .de, .fr etc and come back with a total amount that could be sorted?

I guess that would depend on which extensions.

I agree.

Being able to filter/see if the domains/keywords are (also) locked up in .COM (or taken in at least 1 other extension) would be a bonus.

The only ones I use are date registered, local searches, majestic

But I don't like majestic, i just use it as a filter to see what ones to check on OSE

@RobM How many domains is your drop lists based on?

Sorry, read your rundown.

We constantly monitor over 8 million co.uk, org.uk, and me.uk domains, and are adding more weekly, to bring you the most comprehensive uk drop lists around. Other uk list providers run at less than a half of that.

I guess that would depend on which extensions.

From memory there was another site that showed status for .com, .org, .net and a couple of others.

I think the more the merrier really - but rather than show a ton of individual columns - maybe just show 1 with the 'total number of taken extensions' out of the ones able to be checked.

(but I'm guessing there may be some whois quota issues with other extensions?)

This is pretty comprehensive (tick the "Select All" checkbox)
("taken" usually seems accurate. However, it can't tell the difference between available names and names blocked by the registry e.g. .uk names, where only the rights-holders can register them)

This covers less extensions, but is very fast.

Choose the "Advanced Search" tab to get more extensions (you can search several hundred together) Only snag is that it tends to time out when you choose too many:

ExpiredDomains.net have a great sorting function that shows you if any given domain is taken in at least the top 5 > .COM/.NET/.ORG/.BIZ/.INFO

Those wouldn't be necessary for .CO.UK expiring domains.
.COM/ORG.UK/.NET would more than suffice.

Thanks for the input guys.
So far I have included metrics for OSE (da,pa,links, rank), Majestic (backlinks, ref domains [also for EDU and GOV],citation flow, trust flow), Alexa links and rank, pagerank, Archive date and amount of times, Registered in com/net/org/us/info/biz/mobi/xxx and now doing google searches and CPC. Anything anyone else can think of?

Will this option "Registered in com/net/org/etc." be integrated in the filter section or just the main data points window?
Would be really useful to be able to filter lists based on this criteria.

Cheers Rob. Looking forward to it going live.

Again, not sure how you'd implement it, but another useful one could be to show whether a domain had already been backordered at the big registrars i.e. 123reg, 1and1, domainmonster etc. ?
