Reading though the Conservative's "Right to Know" forms (There Parliamentary Expenses) I came accross Tony Baldry - MP for Banbury's entry for:
Website hire - £1882.94;

That's only between April and June 2008 - 3 months.

So is he renting tonybaldry.org.uk for £7531.76 a year from the registrant h a e c c e i t a s ?? Is he getting value for our money???

The Blog is Empty
The Gallery is Empty
No new news articles were published in the period covered by the "Right to Know" form.

He doesn't appear to be making best use of the facility he is paying for??

Anyone here from North Oxfordshire ?

Francis Maude of Horsham paid £460 in the 3 months that's £1840/year - he's getting a politico's site for a 1/4 what Tony Baldry is paying for his very similar site. Fancis Maude is actually using his site.

Richard Benyon of Newbury has his website hosted, and updated daily for just £576 - for a whole year - not just the 3 month period.

James Arbuthnot of North East Hampshire : His website cost £514 for the three months,

John Gummer of Suffolk Coastal : His website cost £1839 for the three months - that's £7356 / year - It's another politicos design site like Mr Baldry's but at least Mr Gummer is updating his.

Anne Main of St Albans paid £881.25 in the 3 months that's £2643/year

Anne Milton of Guilford paid Politicos £1838 for "website support" in the 3 months (£7352 in a year), that's on top of £7347.53 other spending under her communications allowance.

Richard Ottaway of Croydon South spent only £293 on website maintenance in the 3 months, £1172/year.

Michael Spicer of West Worcestershire spent £352 on website maintenance in the 3 months - £1408 in a year.

Gary Streeter, of South West Devon pays a member of staff under £9999 specifically to look after the "community page and discussion page " on his website, in addition to a £1100 spent "updating website" in the quarter, that's £4400 if he spends at that rate over the year.

Shailesh Vara of North West Cambridgeshire pays a £353 Quarterly fee for maintenance of website £1412.

Peter Viggers of Gosport Pays £599.25/quarter for his "Website costs" that's £2397 a year

David Cameron - Allowance To update website and paid to Reaper Enterprises Ltd (£70 for April and £176.25 for May and June) in respect of David Cameron MP - for Witney

They're the Conservative MPs who've actually separated out their website costs from other expenditure.

Apart from Mr Baldry - most appear to be getting reasonable value for money; it might be that Mr Baldry has made a mistake?
