Hello Acorn people,

NameDrive reached it's first-week birthday yesterday and I thought I'd post here to celebrate.
I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts on how you think we're doing so far.

- Have you tried us out?
- Why haven't you tried us out?
- Are you waiting for something before you try us out?

- What do you think of the service / payouts / layout? (Most of all the payouts, of course! We are doubling some people's payouts compared to some other programs...)
- Have you seen the commission-free 'for sale' links that are now on our sale pages such as http://www.poiker.co.uk (scuse me plugging my own name)?
- More to the point, have you seen the great customized 'for sale' link on pages like http://www.boxedset.co.uk? Yes, you too can have one of those if you put it an application to me by email. (and park with us of course)

- What do you think of the design/layout of the site?
- What do you think of the design/layout of the parked pages?
- What expectations do you have for the future? (coming soon - hopefully within the next 7 days - industry headers and custom portals for high-performance names. and more, but I'm keeping that secret for now. There are Things Happening...)

A couple more for you lot:
- Do you have to sign a contract to park with us?
What? Are you mad? No way. We will pay you out as competitively as possible whoever you are, you never need to sign a contract for 'extra priveledges'. If we fail in our mission, then you move on and we try harder to get back you back. That's the way the world works. (of course, you'll never *want* to leave once you've been with us...)
- What's this about a 10% bonus?
Yes, it's still there. The 10% bonus on your first 3 months' earnings if you park with us. This is only valid for the first 50,000 domains and I'm delighted to say that, after only a week in operation, we are proud to announce we already have 10,000 domains! So no hanging about, get moving...

Seriously, folks. Your feedback is massively appreciated. I sincerely hope it is mainly positive and believe it will be. I know there are things we can improve on. It is 10.00 on Friday evening and I'm still battering away at making our portal even more lucrative and relevant... We want to get every penny your domains can and need your (brutal if necessary) feedback to make it work.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Have a great weekend.

Ed

Just to clarify re. boxedset.co.uk which happens to be one of my domains, Ed is of course talking only about the customisation of the "for sale" LINK on the parking page itself.

He is not talking about the destination site that the "for sale" link points to, which is in no way related to NameDrive as it's my privately developed, copyrighted site.

That was probably clear anyway, but just in case I thought I'd make it more explicit.

Incidentally, you'd be hard pressed to find a more responsive company, from my early ND experience at least! Ed and the team are willing to bend themselves backwards to accommodate useful suggestions.

You are at least now on my radar as an alternative to Sedo. A couple of comments I have for you:

- The holding pages running you're ads are perhaps a bit plain. I don't know if you've done research on best type of page for click through rates, but I was thinking a bit of colour might improve click throughs?

- There isn't very much about the company on the Company link, just its address. I would look at a page like this to get a "feel" for the company and whether they're worth using, and I think you need to add more to this section.

- If I am going to switch to a new service, I normally want to know if I'm going to earn more money with it. Some examples of how much I could expect to earn might help. Information on whether certain ads pay more than others would be interesting.

Hello there Accelerator,

Sorry about the dealy in replying. Here are the answers to your questions:

Those very basic pages were our starting pages. We have actually found that they do get good CTR. We are certainly of the opinion that plainer is better. However, we have been promising the industry headers and they are now live. You can look at www.osxtorrents.com to see our technology ones. Let me know what you think of them, those of you who have accounts with us. We are looking to add more very soon.

I appreciate this and am writing something more about us now.

How much you could expect to earn is effectively open. We will guarantee you that we pay out a very large percentage of what we receive from Google. A lot of the people who have so far been with us have been happy, I believe (though there aren't *that* many 'hooray' posts on here :)

Despite our high PPC, we are also looking this week at really improving our CTR for our clients. The headers are the first step in this. By the end of the week, we're hoping to see big increases in both for our clients. I'll keep you posted on what's to come.

I hope this satisfactorily answers your questions. Feel free to email me directly at [email protected] if you'd like some more specific information.

well going off it so far im happy with it for the simple reason i can park my names, earn revenue and get an email from potentail buyers direct without waiting days for them to be clarrified :)

speak of which. i sold a name on sedo, nom changed the datails 4 days ago and still no payment, email sedo 3 times and nothing....totally w******

but hey sedo should be shitting in there boots now as if ND carries on like this this will get the uk market by xmas :)

Is it just me or are the the pages on NameDrive taking that much longer to load than Sedo?

Also - agree with the point above, the holding pages are very plain and not at all appealing.

Firestars.

Hi, yes the pages are a bit slow today. They're snapping back onto the screen again now.
I'll let the stats speak for themselves. They may look dull, but we don't want visitors' eyes distracted by anything other than the ads to click on. Having said that, as mentioned, we have the headers up now to add a bit of flesh to it, should you want it. We're currently designing more of these for people to choose from.
The plan for this week is focussing mainly on obtaining high CTR. Towards the end of the week, we'll hopefully have even higher CTR and higher PPC to go with it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can hope with.

No, you are right, that doesnt look too shabby at all.

Ive taken the plunge and move my portfolio over to Namedrive, I have a few issues with some domains not registering correctly during registration but im pleased with the look so far.

Wow, Firestars!

I took you for a total ND cynic from your last post! I'm delighted that you've decided to give us a go! As you all have read ad nauseam now, we will guarantee to match (and hopefully greatly improve your earnings) on any portfolio you move over for a min of 30 days, so you have nothing to lose by trying us out. I think many people can testify that we are moving forward at a rapid place.
In fact our first ever big client, who was our largest portfolio owner for some 10 days has had his portfolio tinkered with to the extent that he has pretty much doubled his daily revenue from September 1st to September 10th, so we are going in the right direction. I can't say this will happen for everyone, but we will try and treat everyone as our largest portfolio owner. :)
In addition to this, we can also manually input all 12 of your related searches if you like, so if you're very particular about how a certain page, send a mail to the ed and I'll get it sorted for you.

Hello everybody,

We're all OK now. You may notice some slight lag, but we are implementing yet more bandwidth to accommodate the huge increase in (non-DDOS :)) traffic which will make things faster as of Wednesday night. We are also investing in even more servers so that by the end of next week, we'll be quicker than ever before.

In addition to this, and in our bid to improve, as I say, on a daily basis, we have added yet more industry headers. I've given a brief overview of what's on offer below. We will soon be updating our categories and optimization system, but for now, the headers are chosen by selecting the category associated with it. We would recommend selecting the category to go with the domain name, rather than selecting the category with the prettiest header!

This is a cut-out-and-keep guide to the headers we currently have (with the assoicated categories):

Header..................Image................Colour...............Associated Categories

Travel.....................Aeroplane...........Dark Blue.........Travel

Technology..............Laptop...............Light Blue.........Technology
.................................................. .........................Internet/Ecommerce
.................................................. .........................Science

Health & Beauty........Healthy man.......Light Green........Health&Beauty
.............................................................................Nature

Home.......................House..............Dark Green.........Home

Finance....................Stock index.......Purple................Finance
.............................................................................Careers Education

Gifts........................Gift...................Orange...............Gifts

Business / Law..........Law Court..........Turquoise............Business/Law

Adult.......................Lady.................. Light red.............Adult

Consumer Goods........Smiling people......Blue/Green.........Consumer Goods

Leisure / Culture........Newspaper man....Inca Silver..........Leisure / Culture
.................................................. ............................Society

Sports.....................Sporty People......Red...................Sport

Other..........................The standard Plain header

That felt like a pioneering piece of foruming. Let it never be done again.
