Hi all! im new to the domain world so any feedback+/- of any kind is much appreciated as im young and have a lot to learn. i cant believe just how excited i am about this business!:)
Any other newbies read "the domain game" - david kesmodel, im half way through it but im hooked!! it takes you back to the very beginning.
any ways, i went and registered a domain, which sounded good at first - yet2host.com (not so sure now tho)and now parked on sedo, but im a bit stuck here, what is the best thing to do, build a content site with relevant info and reveiws and stuff, and then modify meta tags for keywords to get traffic, or do i just leave it on sedo for sale?or should i scrap this domain and buy domains which will generate type in traffic? I have a lot of questions to ask, i think maybe ive confused myself a little and should probably learn a little more about the domain world before jumping in. Any suggestions / help appreciated!

Any domain generating type-in traffic is worth having, and .com is a particularly good extension for type-in.

If you have development skills then in my opinion development is usually a good idea. After all, a domain is valuable because of its potential for a website and the associated advertising on it. So, as a rule of thumb, develop if you can ..... more and more people here are doing that.

Yet2Host.com is actually a decent first domain because sites about web hosting options work well although it is of course competitive. You will achieve maximum value by developing it because other developers won't want to pay a signifcant sum for a domain like this because it is not the "must have" generic, so they could equally think of something clever like this themselves.

My advice is don't go crazy buying names until you understand the key principles involved in what makes a name a good investment.
