Moan groan.

What's with having to fill in the domain name at the top of every page. Talk about a pain in the arse.

Colin, I've filled in a number of transfer forms using the method below, and Nominet haven't contacted me yet about not having the domain name on the top of each page.

For those of you who want to print a pre-filled form, do the following:

(1) Goto http://www.opposite.com/domain_transfer_form.pdf (I've removed the "Get Saveable pdf" button). In Adobe Reader click the "Save a Copy" button to save a copy to your hard drive.

(2) Adobe Reader doesn't allow the saving of changes to form fields, so you need to download a pdf editor. I use Foxit Reader 2.0 for Windows, which works perfectly well. Goto Foxit Software and download it, then install. When you start the Foxit Reader it might say that there's a "Missing Component Found" just ignore this and click no. Open the domain_transfer_form.pdf and fill in all your details, then click save.

(3) I've found that the Foxit Reader doesn't print the pdf forms that well, so start Adobe Reader and print the form from there. You now have a printed transfer form with all your details already in it.

Note: The next time you sell a domain, all you need to do is use Foxit Reader to just edit the domain name, save it, then print out the pdf form using Adobe Reader. Simple, the whole process takes less than 30 seconds.

Hope that helps.

You're using an old form, the new one does require you to put the domain name at the top of each page.

How do you personally get around sending in a utility bill! I mean, I don't fancy sending my gas bill to someone else!

e.g. You send them the parts they need to fill in, they send them back to you, you shove your stupidly over-priced gas bill in the envelope and you send it off to Nominet?

The last domain I sold, I sent in a photo copy of a utility bill which Nominet excepted. The one before that, I didn't send in any proof of ID and as such I got an email from Nominet telling me to provide it, so I scanned the same utility bill and sent them an email back together with a .jpg attachment, that again was fine.

I do use the Foxit reader to fill in the form, but having to put the domain name at the top of every page is a real pain. Not helped by Foxit not supporting copy and paste.

Please Nominet can we have a copy of the form in a format before it is converted to PDF. Then there will be a chance of filling it in automatically.

Filling in the forms with Foxit is easy enough. It does support copy and paste but you lose formatting without a placeholder.

Well I'm stumped. I can't even seem to get the 'Copy' work and can't see a paste button.

thanks for that PDf.. saved me time and hassles.

you can get around sending the ID if you really wanted to.. all if you are worried then scan the bill and blur out everything but the name and address :p ...

Form updated

The updateable pdf is ready with the new form layout.

Domain name portfolio management tools

--------------------
first input your details.
second press the button at the end of the form ["get saveable pdf"] to get your details burned into the pdf
third save the pdf to disk using the little save to disk item in acrobat reader (and not the file->save link of your browser)
at all times ignoring the adobes unnecessary warnings.
fourth reuse as necessary or print out a whole load of them with the domain field blank
---------------------

enjoy

I really do appreciate your efforts to provide this very useful tool - excellent stuff.

One question. How is this update of 23rd October different from your previous version? Thanks.
