Just a reminder that Nominet's AGM is next week Wednesday 2 May 2007 at 10:00am at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Manchester:

http://www.nic.uk/governance/agm/

The hotel is close to Manchester Piccadilly Station or the postcode for your Sat Nav is: M2 5GP

After the formal business there will be a governance consultation event:

We have also decided that we shall host a panel discussion on the issues within the consultation to seek further member feedback after lunch at approximately 1:30 on the same day as the AGM (2 May 2007) at the same venue. We invite those of you who wish to discuss the matters raised to attend and give us your thoughts. If you are planning to attend this event or the AGM then please email us your confirmation to [email protected]

At a time when Nominet is deciding the future and direction of the company this is a very important event for members to attend. Members need to turn out in large numbers to debate the issues in the consultation:

I don't want to be sat there with more chairs than people! Empty chairs don't answer back or represent the membership! Please attend and make your voice heard to the panel on the day.

Do you want Nominet to change the articles and allow them to have complete control of the board and fees? How will this affect your business in the future?

After or before the event please also fill in the Governance Consultation survey which has been extended until the 9th May:

http://www.nic.uk/governance/consultation/respond/

BTW you can click "I disagree/I agree" and make comments at the same time.

I will also be there the night before on the 1st May along with board candidates Angus Hanton and Michael Toth if you want to discuss anything. We are also looking for views and help on setting up a UK Domain Name Association.

Finally if you really can't attend then please watch the webcast to see what happens and fill in a survey.
