Has anyone ranked a wordpress template site well which isn't full of text?

When I've done html sites i've made sure there is plenty of text and ranked well whereas with a lot of these wordpress templates it's all graphics.

following on from that do you think you could rank this site? www.superbabies.co.uk seeing as it's mainly affiliate links? they are 301 redirects.
I did the site a long time ago and never finished it or did any seo and just wondering if it's worth persuing. I have another site www.tenthings.co.uk in the same state but neither obviously get much traffic if any.

Looks like plenty of content to me, I have one factsonspace.com thats similar, gets a load of SE organic traffic.
Think about the home pages of site with new modern designs, there is very little to them text wise, Im not sure its really an issue so much any more.

To boost the text content of sites like that you can add post excerpts 'on hover' to images ;)

most of my posts are named ten things..... and you would think some of them would be unique long tail terms and domain is tenthings but they dont rank anywhere that anybody would get to them. If I use that tool for tent hings it says 16 occurances? tenthings 2 occurences.
How do I get decent ranking for "ten things"?

Im still a fan of varied anchor text backlinks. As long as you don't end up with a really 'top heavy' link profile (loads of links for the same domain/very repetitive anchor text) you should have decent safe rankings.

You need to make sure there is relevant text on the site to target searches.

The title of the site is just: Super Babies
This term gets quite a low number of searches a month.

If you pitch the site towards searches then there is more likelyhood that the site will be found.

Good place to start - download Yoast's Wordpress SEO plugin - it allows you to custom edit the titles of pages (title tag) and if you use the Keyword tool you can find traffic'd terms to target pages towards.

What if you take this page as an example http://www.tenthings.co.uk/ten-things-to-do-before-you-die/ it has the relevant title, mentions the term once or twice only though but it's not on first few pages of google for that tail "ten things to do before you die" yet different terms rank for it. same for some of the other tent hings posts?

You need a hell of a lot more (& decent) backlinks. Yours currently ranks at #162 in Google UK, and first page results for me are things like Forbes.com. If it's any consolation though it's #18 in Bing ;)

Yes not done any link building just guauging if it's worth persuing tbh.
If I search for ten things to do before you die none of page one has "ten" they are all 10 or something else. Forbes are bottom of page one with 10 Things To Do Before You Die

G knows that 'ten' and '10' are the same thing. It works at a much more intelligent level than just that though - you can see it in searches where it accepts synonyms to give even better results.
