Can anyone talk me through doing this?

If I sell a Wordpress site, how do I then give the buyer the site and name etc?

Fantastic plugin to make life easy when transferring wordpress sites is DUPLICATOR.

When installed it creates two files, an installer and package. Both of which the new owner will upload to their server and then navigate to the installer.php file.

Who do you host your site with?

I use TSOHost so in the past I've raised a support ticket to have the site/database/domain name moved out of my control panel and into a new "Lite Hosting" account and paid £14.99 to give the buyer a year to get the site moved over to their own host or leave it with TSOhost

Thanks for the info guys. I host it on host gator. I've built sites but never sold one. I've seen them for sale on Sedo etc. but always wondered how you actually give the sight and domain name over to a buyer if you manage to sell one?

Great bit of information. I was wondering myself about the best way to transfer Wordpress blogs. The good thing as well is that it is a free download from Wordpress.

You could just ask your host, but I think pushing to another account with said host, then the buyer can do what they wish with it after that.
