SEO Newbie-Plan

Ok I have had several site in the past but never really got any traffic from search. I mostly got traffic from posting youtube video's on the site's topic and from having a bebo myspace etc.

I am going to try some SEO on a new site I am developing and here's my plan. Please let me know what you think and if I am on the right track.

1. Identify the best Keywords for the site and enter them in the meta
2. Comment on dofollow blogs with similar topics
3. Join dofollow forums of same topic and have a link in my sig.
4. Write some Keyword rich articles with links to my site and submit them to various places
5. Submit Sitemap to Google
6. Update website regularly

Thanks for your reply. Yep I managed to get a pretty good domain matching exactly one of the main keywords, with a fair ammount of searches in google per month and not much competition! I usually give up on websites when they ar not doing well at frst but I am going to focus all my efforts on this one until it does.

Fair enough but a little diversification never hurt anyone ...

The main thing is choosing right targeted keywords because all of your efforts would be on it then.

You can use Google External Keywords Suggestion Tool for it.
