Hi all. This domain is on sedo and was registered through easily. I would like around £50 for it but whatever it goes for on sedo... Thanks for looking :D .

1 day remaining. Up to £55. This will be my first sold domain - How exciting!

Tasers are not legal in this country. There are many dictators worldwide who would love to get hold of a load of these weapons to intimidate and attack their opponents

I'm not sure I would be happy to sell a name like that if it were to lead to tasers being sold to people who then go on to commit violent acts on others.

Stupid law, kids just go around knifing folks instead.. You know they would have more fun with a taser or stun gun.. And no one ever died from those.

People probably have died from tasers. Weak hearts and all.

:???: < closest to a tasered face >

I think this name would have big trademark issues,

The name Taser is an acronym: "Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle"[4]. Arizona inventor Jack Cover designed it in 1969; naming it for the science fiction teenage inventor and adventurer character Tom Swift.

So if the company Taser Int'l (taser.com) is using it, either they bought the right from the original namer, or it's free from TM for whatever loophole

You know they would have more fun with a taser or stun gun.. And no one ever died from those.

Amnesty International has documented over 245 deaths that occurred after the use of tasers

I think the taser trademark would now have been overcome.

I think Taser could be argued that it has now become generic and therefore can't be protected by trademark law.

I think you'll be o.k with it, although i'd still expect nominet to roll over on it, if they went to drs,

that's very true.

I think wiki are the only ones who call it "electroshock weapon" Everyone says taser. Although I have probably only used it once in my life. (the word, not a taser - I mean electroshock weapon);)

I'm not sure re the trademark issue. I think there's enough ambiguity to stand up. Anyway, it wont be my problem soon. A couple of hours left, and going for over 200 quid :D

so it's registered... plot thickens...
but the point sill stands about how protected it is... it is rather generic now, me thinks

yep doesn't matter if a trademark has been issued, if it becomes generic after that it can be removed.

For example hpi wanted to take hpiclear co uk from me, I argued that their trademark term hpi had now become generic and was no longer understood to be there brand, and was now the generic term for a car data check. I stated that I would challenge their trademark with the IP office if they took me to drs,

at which point they pee'd off.

Guess they couldn't risk me winning,
