Just noticed an affiliate site which did not show the prices of the products - instead a call-to-action button like "shop now" or "more info"
this would presumably make the click through rate higher but does it help ?

how does everybody else do it?
Thanks

The best thing to do would be to conduct testing on your site and compare your conversion rate with and without the price shown.

I tend to display a price, it's a very important bit of info. Sometimes I don't if I need the site to be relatively maintenance free.

My guess is that conversion rate would be higher when a price is shown, but I should really test this too.

Rgds

it would depend I would say if you plan on checking and making sure the price is accurate, as I know having done it myself, when I click through and the real price is dearer than what I was led to believe is a right turn off.

If there are a lot of competing merchants for the product, then perhaps suggest a 'rough' price, and have the user to click through. If there are less merchants, then perhaps try and get a feed into your site, and use that for the prices, and keep it updated. That way, you should be able to show the lowest prices always, and keep on top of it.

Otherwise, just test, test, test!

test, test, test!

Could not agree more.

Whether showing a price works or not will depend upon the type of site you have and the products that you are promoting. Perhaps if your site is about televisions then showing lowest prices may be important, but if you are promoting clothing for example then it may not be so important to show a price.

I've just started putting "from £" on mine.

I have found a better conversion rate on links with prices but higher through rate on links without, which is what I was expecting.

Problem is that my unpriced links are all amazon with their 8 second cookie, but I'm talking just numbers from the click tracker plugin :)
