Hi

Does anyone know if you can play us region a1 blurays in uk purchased bluray players? It says on the spec that it has NTSC to pal and vice versa conversion, but don't know if that's the bluray bit.

It's an lgbp620

I know there are some whizzes on here so fingers crossed as the kids having seen a movie at the cinema can't wait for the uk release of the DVD lol

My knowledge is a little out of date, its been many years since I used to do dvd players.

Bluray players in general are not multi-region, and usually requite a chip to be soldered onto the board to enable multi-region ability.

I don't know it this had changed, but it was the case a few years ago.

It seems one alternative would be to play it in a Blu-ray drive i.e. one inside a PC because there the region coding is software only (unlike stand-alone players) and there are tools you can get to change the code. Obviously that's only a free solution if you already happen to have a drive in your PC...

Looks like your all right.

I could buy the triple play and use the dvd not the bluray, quality looks the same to me, but main intention was the 3d version. Shame the digital copy you get with these products is not 3d. But saying that the depth isn't that important to my lot and the movie hardly if any has any popping out effects, so looks like I don't need it now.

Thanks again for the information everyone, saved me ordering it and it not working.

ps is bluray really that different? When I watch a normal dvd the tv and player supposedly upgrades it and output looks the same to me.
