Can someone please explain this for me, I thought that Amazon commission is a minimum of 5%, note the Yellow marked figures.

I might be wrong, but several months back when they changed things to do with Amazon aff stuff, I'm sure there was a 5% "maximum" set on commissions, not a 5% minimum?

There's a £7 quid cap on amazon commission on the performance model (which is what I'm guessing you are on)

i've sold a few TV's some over a grand.. got £7 each sale.

so i figured there was a cap.. shame.

Revenue: GBP 3,348.07
Earnings: GBP 102.11

how crap is that? :)

Not sure if it changed but the tiered commission rates used to start at 4% rising to 8%.

My account says 17 more sales for 5.5% and currently on 5%, that is cr*p, I was looking forward to some good sales with Amazon, I could stick with AWIN but I like the fact that the user can buy anything on Amazon and I get commission.

Sean > £102.11 wow  not

If I get enough sales through my ice cream maker site I will get the bank to loan me money for my own stock, I know I will make a minimum of £10 per machine then :p and using Adwords would be worth the cost then aswell.

Thanks for your replies

@doodlebug - amazon cookie is only 24 hours also if I remember right - AWIN is a lot longer I'd stick with AWIN as primary

*added - I'm finding the main advantage of amazon is you can use their review data on your own sites

I don't know what to do but do know that Amazon offers more stock than any aff merchant and the carousel widegt is working for my site in terms of clicks and conversions, I'll give it another 4 weeks and see how sales go ?

Thanks

ps. I don't blame Amazon doing 24hr cookie, a web user could look at an ice cream maker and not buy one but 3 days later come back to Amazon through a seperate search looking for another product.

Login to your amazon affiliates from the US, the % is almost double. Starts at 4%, make 7 sales goto 6%, then make 14 sales goes to 8% (i think), never had sales go over the 8% bracket but they def get more in the medium to long term.

Edit: I have noticed tracking issues with Awin (on content blocks at least), I have sent friends and family to my aff sites to buy and they have bought but the comms not been registered so I'm moving away from awin more and more as the odd missed comm I can live with, but multiple is taking the mick.

Very interesting comments Skinner and could explain why sales are so low through Storeburst as the main merchant feed is AWIN.

Something fishy going on or a glitch ?

Thanks

I don't know, I keep asking my sister for her order number, and my mate too. Both are taking their sweet time. Once I have the code I'll put a support query in, so far I only have 1 of 3 orders I know of.

We've never used content blocks, but do use most UK affiliate networks extensively, and have to say Awin have some of the most reliable tracking in our experience.

Not saying you haven't had missed comms (it happens) just that based on a significant number of sales Awin are as good as most and significantly better than some (I'm looking at you, Affiliate Future). When issues do occur it's more likely to be the merchant at fault than the network.
