Does anyone know how to check clicks in your amazon as to what website the user has come from.

I am finding over 60% of baskets are not converting for some reason so would be nice to compare these checkouts on my sites to the amazon clicks.

thanks

You can create extra 'tracking id' in Amazon Associates.

Just click 'manage' and then 'Add tracking ID'

I have individual IDs per domain. What i mean is say for example in my fsb admin it says 100 checkouts but in amazon orders it only says 20 orders where made. I would like to see if they did actually abandon last minute and amazon did log the clicks or are the clicks going elsewhere.

It shows the number of clicks for each domain (or Tracking-ID) in the "Tracking ID Summary Report".

hi

yes i know but im looking if there is a way to break down the clicks into urls thats from my sites then i can compare them

I'm not sure I'm getting what you mean.

For every site I have, I set a new Tracking ID.
So each one refers to a different site.
This report then shows clearly where those clicks came from.

Is that what you do?

There isn't that I know of other than having individual tracking id's for every single link (depending how many you have this might not be very practical though).

Amazon are quite reliable and a high rate of abandonment at the last minute isn't unusual. Partly it's natural behaviour and partly it's looking for voucher codes that don't exist and having your cookie over-written.

Bear in mind also that their cookie is only 24 hours - a fair few sales happen long after the initial click.

Yes i see the clicks from the different ids and als see the succesdful basket sales but what im looking for if possible a way to see the clicks url from my sites to amazon didnt complete the basket

I'm not sure how you could track individual pages.
Mine seem to 'add up' pretty well so never really thought about it.

@dazc Yep the Amazon cookie is usually one day - but if you use a 'remote shopping cart' this can increase to 90 days+ ;)

Not sure how well it would work but if you put statcounter code into the right template file you should be able to track the exit pages from your sites

cheers but i (like many) dont trust google lol

Crikey, you don't want much do you?

Well, the tools are there, but whether you choose to use the tools that are able to gather the data you require is up to you.

Alternatively, be left in the dark - as you currently are.

Sounds cool.

It should be pretty straight forward with monitoring and storing click-throughs from product pages within your local database and comparing those against products sold in amazon.

Compare those results and job done.

Wait, is this easy to do?

I have a site that sells items through amazon and wouldn't mind increasing cooking length to 90 days!

Edit - it's not a FSB site by the way.

Sign up to statcounter it free. stick the default tracking code in the footer of the layout_default template file 90% it will work and will take about 10 minutes to test

Obviously with FSB its already built in.
For more info on doing it yourself, see here.
