?..which could be very expensive indeed for the seller.

Really? I'm not convinced. People are always talking about the risk Domainers have of getting sued but does it ever actually happen (has it ever despite all the nasty letters)?

I mean why would a large corporation spend high $xx,xxx and many months of time taking someone to court to get a domain when they could spend $2,000 for a udrp?

Also in court, to get compensation they would have to not only prove bad faith, infringement etc etc but also put a dollar figure on their loss. Very hard to do IMO

So, I think the risk, rather than losing real money, is losing the domain.

Urdp totally different at least nominets is a little bit honest lol and you really can’t tell if you’d win were as court the one with the deepest pockets often do… recent urdp four letter one rmhp kept ceat transferred both have multitude of meaning
Combinations of random letters acronyms, initials and abbreviations capable of use by many third parties other than complainant . You also have the publicity it brings e.g. richard branson .xxx he is officially a xxx now and many other bits to take into account

I wouldn't imagine this domain being challenged under just about almost 'All circumstances" (blatent infringement or passing-off) being the exceptions.

Companies with the profile of Apple Computers do not risk bad publicity or perception to find there way into sensible business acquisitions

I would make an apple product review site with contributions from users. I would make the contributions bad ones though. I would get it ranking on p1 of google and then wait for the offer from apple for 100k to sell it.

You can make reviews of trademarks and get away with it by law.

I expect that Apple will eventually buy this. They must have elected not to do so previously though for whatever reason.

Why on earth would you even think of doing this?
You are moving away from what he already does and despite you saying you can review trademearks, you are basically risking everything by doing this and taking a risk you do not need to.

You don't poke a lion with a stick

too busy wetting himself IMO - sorry original poster just my sense of humour

apple's potential interest in the domain will surely be much reduced if/when they get the .apple tld.

Between .eu and .me , no one cares about them :)

Sorry if you work for 123-reg or some other company hyping the hell out of them !

companies wouldn't be applying if they weren't willing to consider spending millions of dollars using and promoting them. But will be interesting to see what happens.
