Kind of surprised to see this sale!

Thought it was a misspelling, am I missing something?

£132, really?

Assuming the thread title is correct, it's a typo domain?

It looks that way....kind of surprised to see any typo domain going for more than £100! Did wonder if it was maybe an obscure alternative spelling when I saw the price but apparently not

Looks like a less complicated way of spelling tattoo! Don't quote me! Sale congrats BTW!

At first I thought 'wow, thats cheap' and then realised it was a typo, and thought 'wow, what a waste of money'.

my fault

At first I thought 'wow, thats cheap' and then realised it was a typo, and thought 'wow, what a waste of money'.

Unfortunately, I didn't notice the typo and bought it! What a waste!

My fault, I know I should always check.....

But up to till now I had thought Domainlore has some good quality domains for sale and they are approved before being allowed on sale, so don't go through my usual checklist used when look at domains sold on threads here.
Not trying to pass the blame, I should have checked and it is entirely my fault.

But it will certainly make me wary of putting offers on Domainlore domains without a bit more digging in the future.

I would be tempted not to complete.. these sorts of domains should come with a special *this is a typo* icon.

Edit> Actually reading the rules on domainlore it says

Kindly note that we do not accept typos or TM domains.

https://domainlore.co.uk/auctions/rules/

I said tempted above, now I defo wouldn't complete.

Sorry to hear that Stephen :(

I see Murray's point though I guess it would be difficult to not complete unless DL has a specific policy on this kind of name (they certainly should though!)

EDIT: Sorry started writing that before seeing Murray's last post, in that case you def look into it further

Not completing would be dishonorable! You can still make your £130 back on it!

You could make the case selling it without warning it's a typo is dishonorable though, especially on a sales platform that says they doesn't allow typos.

I spotted it was a typo straight away so didn't bid for it. If I had bid I would complete. Deny says no typos but he's approved it, buyer beware is what I always say. Chalk it up to experience, bang it on eBay and recover what you can!

I caught bestmorgages.co.uk missing the typo! Its 2 year reg is up next week and I'm dropping....let's see if someone else does the same as me!

Will complete

Thanks for the advise but I have no intention on not completing as ultimately it is my fault.

Domainlore, maybe does need to look at its type policy and how it approves domain listed.

When I bid for Sedo listed domains, I always check them as they allow anything! now I will have to do the same for domains listed on Domainlore, unless they tighten up.

I have been caught several times with 'typos' and even number v letter substitution, since 2006 when I started, so I know you should check. Sadly I have learnt my lesson several times!

Let this be lesson to others who have not been caught by typos, to check each time.

I don't think you should be obliged to complete this sale. It's the platforms fault for a typo domain being put on auction when it shouldn't. To be honest with you I thought this was TattooRemoval too and I looked at it everyday it was on auction! Should have gone specsavers..

There is no manual approval for auctions by users with high competence levels. This is why you get all sorts of nonsense in the hidden gems section.

Anyway, I think you should complete. Sure the seller has broken the rules by listing a typo but you've agreed to buy it over other interested parties who will have no doubt followed through.

Mate surely if the seller breaks the rules then that should render any agreement void, right?

This is what I think. I would feel that I've been tricked into bidding on it via a rule breaking auction, and definitely wouldn't feel obliged to see it through.

I don't look at it like that. I think the listing in itself is a rule break sure and perhaps it shouldn't have been there in the first place but that doesn't take away the fact that someone has seen that listing and agreed to buy it - 3 different people with Stephen bidding twice. That to me means a sale should be honoured as the buyer has agreed to buy the domain at a given price and also took the opportunity of purchase away from two other parties.

I agree it shouldn't be on domain lore in the first place but an agreed sale is an agreed sale.

Personally I would email Denys, say you bought it in error not realising it was a typo and point out that the reason you didn't double check this was because of Domainlore's own policy....ask if there's any way the sale can be rescinded under the circumstances and just see what he says. He may well have accepted the listing because he simply didn't notice the typo himself.
